FAQs

If there's anything I haven't answered here that you'd like to ask, just get in touch.

Counselling (one to one)

What is counselling?

Counselling provides a confidential and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. It can help you gain insight, process difficult emotions, and work towards meaningful change at your own pace.

How long are sessions?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How often will we meet?

Sessions are usually held weekly at a regular time. In some cases, we may agree on a different frequency depending on your needs.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Some people attend for a short, focused period (e.g. 6–12 sessions), while others choose longer-term therapy. We can review this together as we go.

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brings you to counselling, your background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You can also ask any questions you may have.

Is counselling confidential?

Yes, everything you share is treated in strict confidence. The only exceptions are if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or if required by law.

What issues can counselling help with?

Counselling can support a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, loss and grief, trauma, low self-esteem, and life transitions.

Do I need to prepare anything for sessions?

No preparation is needed. You are welcome to bring whatever feels important to you.

What if I need to cancel a session?

Please provide at least one week’s notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed appointments, will be charged in full.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer both in-person and online sessions via a secure platform.

How do I get started?

You can get in touch via email or phone to arrange an initial appointment.

Couples Counseling

What is couples counselling?

Couples counselling provides a confidential space for partners to explore their relationship, improve communication, and work through difficulties together.

How long are sessions?

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

How is couples counselling structured?

We begin with an initial session together as a couple. This is followed by one individual session for each partner. After these initial meetings, we continue with joint sessions together.

Why do you include individual sessions?

Individual sessions allow each partner the space to speak openly about their experiences and perspective, helping inform the work we do together.

How often will we meet?

Sessions are usually held weekly at a regular time.

What happens in the first session?

In the first session, we will meet together to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to work towards.

Is couples counselling confidential?

Yes, confidentiality will be discussed clearly at the outset, including how this applies to both joint and individual sessions.

What if we need to cancel a session?

Please provide at least one week’s notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed appointments, will be charged in full.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer both in-person and online sessions via a secure platform.

How do we get started?
